Noah Was Pulled Away From a Hotel Luggage Cart — Then His Toy Truck Revealed What Someone Had Hidden Beside the Wheel
Chapter 5 — What Was Being Taken
The guest in Room 612 was an elderly woman named Patricia Lang.
She had been downstairs attending a wedding luncheon.
When she returned, nothing appeared wrong.
Her suitcase remained closed.
Her purse was where she left it.
Then she noticed a small jewelry pouch was missing.
Inside had been her late husband’s watch.
Value:
Not extraordinary.
Sentimental more than financial.
Another room on Marcus’s list belonged to a businessman who had reported losing $900 in cash.
Another guest lost earrings.
Small items.
Easy to carry.
Easy for victims to wonder whether they had misplaced them.
David frowned.
“Why not steal laptops or expensive luggage?”
Grant answered.
“Because people report obvious theft immediately.”
Rebecca nodded.
“A missing watch might not be noticed until the guest is already home.”
The person behind the thefts was careful.
Then Noah said:
“The man with the red shoes.”
Emily looked down.
“What man?”
Noah pointed toward the lobby.
“He touched the cart before.”
Marcus turned quickly.
“What?”
Noah explained.
Before his toy truck rolled beneath the luggage cart, a man in black pants and bright red sneakers had stood beside it.
He seemed to be looking near the wheel.
When Noah approached, the man walked away.
Marcus’s face changed.
“Did he have a hotel jacket?”
Noah nodded.
Rebecca asked:
“What color?”
“Green.”
The hotel had only one department wearing dark green jackets.
Guest Relations.
Rebecca immediately thought of three employees.
Then lobby footage narrowed it to one.
A man walked past the cart at 11:42 AM.
Black pants.
Red shoes.
Green jacket.
His name was:
Eric Dalton.
