Noah Was Pulled Away From a Hotel Luggage Cart — Then His Toy Truck Revealed What Someone Had Hidden Beside the Wheel

Chapter 1 — Under the Luggage Cart

Noah’s yellow toy truck rolled faster than he expected.

It crossed the polished hotel lobby.

Passed two leather chairs.

Then disappeared beneath a brass luggage cart.

The six-year-old hurried after it.

He dropped to his knees.

“There you are.”

Before he could reach underneath, a hotel employee suddenly rushed toward him.

“Get away from that cart!”

The man grabbed Noah beneath the arms and pulled him backward.

Noah immediately began crying.

Emily heard him from across the lobby.

She ran toward them.

“Don’t touch my son!”

She pulled Noah into her arms.

The employee stepped back.

“Ma’am, I—”

“Why did you grab him?”

The employee kept looking toward the luggage cart.

Emily noticed.

Noah wiped his eyes.

Then pointed toward the front wheel.

“Mommy.”

Emily looked.

At first, she saw nothing.

Then she noticed a thin black object wedged behind the brass wheel cover.

It looked almost like a small plastic case.

She bent closer.

The employee immediately stepped between her and the cart.

“Please don’t touch that.”

Emily looked up.

“What are you hiding?”

His expression changed.

“Nothing.”

“Then move.”

“Ma’am—”

Noah pointed again.

“My truck hit it.”

The employee’s face went pale.

Emily pushed the luggage cart slightly.

The black object dropped onto the marble floor.

It was a small key-card holder.

Inside were three hotel room cards.

And a folded strip of paper.

Emily opened it.

Six room numbers had been written in blue ink.

Beside two of them was one word:

DONE.

Emily slowly looked at the employee.

“What is this?”

He didn’t answer.

Then Emily saw the final room number.

ROOM 814.

Her room.
