Natalie showed investigators how to access the files.
They contained nearly eighteen months of financial records.
The suspicious payments weren’t random.
They went to six shell companies.
All six ultimately connected back to either Greg Lawson or Victor Hale.
The amount was far larger than Megan had calculated.
More than two million dollars.
Investigators believed Greg approved fake vendor invoices.
Victor created the companies and moved the money.
When Megan noticed the pattern, Greg initially hoped she would accept his explanation.
She didn’t.
Then internal files began disappearing.
When Greg realized Megan had printed copies, he contacted Victor.
They didn’t know exactly where she had hidden them.
Until Greg overheard Megan telling Natalie she planned to take “the envelope” to lunch before meeting an attorney.
