Claire Realized Noah Had Taken the Wrong Suitcase — Then Airport Security Asked Who Told Him to Pick It Up
Chapter 9 — Why Noah Was Chosen
Claire struggled most with one detail.
“Why involve Noah?”
Investigators asked Eric the same question.
His answer made her furious.
“Because he was easier.”
The airport was crowded.
Claire was checking her phone.
Noah stood closer to the carousel.
Eric knew a child would be less suspicious if a stranger casually pointed out a suitcase.
He didn’t threaten him.
He didn’t grab him.
He simply smiled and said:
“That one’s yours.”
At the same moment, Eric’s partner took Noah’s real suitcase.
If Claire noticed immediately, Eric expected everyone to blame the identical luggage.
If she didn’t, they would have time to leave.
What ruined the plan was the luggage tag.
Claire checked it before walking away.
Then she found Adrian’s identification card.
And Noah told the truth about the stranger.
Victor apparently believed a simple explanation would survive longer than airport security would bother investigating.
He was wrong.
Every important moment had been recorded.
Eric touching Adrian’s suitcase.
Eric directing Noah toward it.
The second man taking Noah’s real bag.
The SUV leaving the parking garage.
And the license plate connecting everything back to Victor’s company.
One ordinary baggage hall had produced a complete timeline.
