Claire Realized Noah Had Taken the Wrong Suitcase — Then Airport Security Asked Who Told Him to Pick It Up
Chapter 2 — The Man in the Gray Coat
The security officer touched the radio clipped to his shoulder.
“Male, gray coat, moving toward Exit C.”
Claire grabbed Noah’s hand.
“Do you know him?”
Noah shook his head.
“He was standing by the belt.”
“What did he say?”
“He said my suitcase was coming.”
Claire stared at him.
“How did he know what your suitcase looked like?”
Noah shrugged.
“I don’t know.”
The officer looked at the black suitcase.
“Did the man touch this bag?”
Noah nodded.
“He pulled it closer and told me, ‘That one’s yours.’”
Claire’s face went pale.
The officer immediately moved the suitcase away from them.
“Do not open it.”
Claire’s heart started beating faster.
“Why?”
“Because if someone intentionally directed your son to take luggage belonging to another passenger, we need to know why before anyone handles it further.”
Another security officer arrived.
Then a third.
Noah stared at them.
“Am I in trouble?”
Claire crouched beside him.
“No. You didn’t know.”
The first officer introduced himself.
“I’m Officer Ramirez.”
He looked at Noah.
“Can you describe the man?”
Noah did.
Tall.
Gray coat.
Dark hair.
Small scar near his chin.
Ramirez looked toward the airport cameras.
“Good.”
Claire followed his gaze.
Dozens of cameras covered the baggage hall.
Ramirez handed the suitcase to another officer.
“Get me the carousel footage.”
Then he looked at Claire.
“We’re going to find out exactly what happened.”
