Claire Realized Noah Had Taken the Wrong Suitcase — Then Airport Security Asked Who Told Him to Pick It Up

Chapter 5 — The Driver

His name was Eric Mason.

Claire had met him twice.

Once at her father’s funeral.

And once outside Samuel’s old office.

Eric worked for Victor Lang as a driver and personal assistant.

Claire stared at the image.

“That’s him.”

Ramirez looked at her.

“You’re certain?”

“Yes.”

“Why would your father’s former business partner want your suitcase?”

Claire had no answer.

Then she remembered the final conversation she had with Victor.

It happened three days earlier.

Victor called while Claire was at her father’s house.

He asked whether she had found “the old company papers.”

Claire told him she had barely started sorting everything.

Victor laughed.

Then said something she had not considered important at the time.

“If you find anything with my name on it, call me before you throw it away.”

Claire looked at Ramirez.

“He knew there were documents.”

Airport police contacted local authorities.

Meanwhile, baggage-security staff followed the second man on camera.

He carried Noah’s suitcase toward the parking garage.

Then placed it inside a black SUV.

The license plate was visible.

Registered owner:

LANG DEVELOPMENT GROUP.

Claire covered her mouth.

This was no luggage mistake.

Victor Lang had apparently sent people to intercept something her father had left behind.

And he had used Noah to make the theft look accidental.
