Mrs. Gable walks across the small office space to retrieve the fresh documents.

She lifts the heavy stack from the metal tray.

She glances down at the first printed page.

“These are the physical bank statements,” Mrs. Gable announces.

She carries the papers over to the mahogany desk and lays them flat before Pastor Thomas.

Pastor Thomas looks down at the financial records.

“The scholarship funds,” Pastor Thomas says quietly.

“Let me see those,” Director Vance demands, stepping forward.

Headmistress Sterling pushes past Director Vance into the room.
