Rachel stared at it.

Natural causes following a sudden medical emergency.
Michael looked at Rachel.
“Your mother knew.”
Rachel nodded slowly.
Evelyn had learned where Thomas was only after his death.
An attorney contacted her because Thomas had left a sealed package.
Inside were copies of financial records.
And a written statement.
Thomas admitted one thing.
He had run.
Not because he stole the money.
Because he was terrified of being arrested before he could prove who actually did.
Running destroyed his credibility.
He knew that.
