Richard Accused a Mechanic of Scratching His Car — Then the Garage Cameras Showed the Damage Was Already There Before She Touched It

Chapter 1 — “You Scratched My Car”

The repair garage was busy when Richard stormed through the service entrance.

He did not wait at the front desk.

He did not ask for a manager.

He walked directly toward Sarah.

She was standing beside a workbench checking a service sheet.

Richard pointed toward her.

“You scratched my car.”

Every conversation nearby seemed to stop.

Sarah looked up.

“Excuse me?”

Richard pointed toward the silver sedan parked outside the bay.

“The driver’s door.”

“There’s a huge scratch across it.”

Sarah frowned.

“That scratch was already there.”

Richard laughed sharply.

“No, it wasn’t.”

“I know my own car.”

Sarah remained calm.

“When the vehicle came in this morning, there was already damage along that door.”

Richard stepped closer.

“So now you’re calling me a liar?”

Sarah looked directly at him.

“I’m telling you what I saw.”

Richard shook his head.

“You people had the car for five hours.”

“I picked it up, drove half a mile, and noticed the scratch.”

“It happened here.”

Sarah looked toward the car.

The scratch was obvious.

A pale line ran almost the full length of the driver’s door.

It was not a tiny mark someone could easily miss once they knew where to look.

But Sarah remembered seeing it during intake.

She was certain.

Then another mechanic, Mark, walked over carrying a tablet.

“What’s going on?”

Richard pointed toward Sarah again.

“She damaged my car and won’t admit it.”

Mark looked toward Sarah.

“You remember the scratch?”

“Yes.”

“Already there?”

“Yes.”

Richard scoffed.

“Of course she’s going to say that.”

Mark looked at the tablet.

“The cameras recorded the whole bay.”

Richard’s expression changed.

Only slightly.

But Sarah noticed.

Mark opened the security system.

He found the morning footage.

Richard’s silver sedan appeared on the screen.

Richard himself was standing beside it before Sarah ever began working.

Mark paused the image.

Then zoomed toward the driver’s door.

The long scratch was already there.

Sarah looked directly at Richard.

“You said I did that.”

Richard’s face hardened.

“That could be glare.”

Mark said nothing.

He simply switched to another camera.

And this angle showed the scratch even more clearly before Sarah had come within ten feet of the car.
