Noah’s Science Project Was Smashed Before Class — Then the Security Camera Showed Who Entered the Lab
Chapter 8 — Noah Gets Another Chance
The science fair was postponed for one week.
Principal Reynolds personally asked Noah whether he wanted to withdraw.
Noah looked at the pieces of his bridge.
“No.”
“You’re sure?”
“I want to rebuild it.”
Ms. Carter smiled.
“Then we’ll help.”
Students began volunteering.
One brought new wooden strips.
Another helped sand the supports.
Noah’s father returned with replacement materials.
Even Tyler appeared after school.
He stood awkwardly beside the worktable.
“Can I help?”
Noah looked at him.
“You lied.”
Tyler nodded.
“I know.”
“You knew Evan was asking about my project.”
“Yeah.”
“And you pretended you had no idea.”
Tyler looked down.
“I thought if I told the truth, Dad would get mad.”
Noah remained silent.
Then Tyler placed a bag of new wooden beams on the table.
“I don’t want his tower in the fair anymore.”
“Why?”
“Because it isn’t mine.”
Noah studied him.
Then handed him sandpaper.
“You can do the side supports.”
Tyler looked surprised.
“Really?”
“Don’t mess them up.”
Tyler smiled.
“No pressure.”
