Mason Found Ryan’s Missing Soccer Gear Inside a Black Case — Then Coach Sarah Checked the Field Cameras

Chapter 7 — The Medical Card

Every player kept a small medical authorization card inside their equipment bag.

It listed emergency contacts.

Allergies.

Insurance details.

And eligibility clearance.

Ryan’s was missing.

Sarah immediately opened the club registration system.

His profile had been changed.

A red warning appeared beside his name.

NOT CLEARED FOR COMPETITION — MEDICAL REVIEW REQUIRED.

Ryan stared at the screen.

“I’m not injured.”

Sarah opened the edit history.

The status had been changed three days earlier.

User account:

D.WALSH.

Everyone looked at Derek.

He went pale.

“That was temporary.”

Sarah stood.

“You changed a player’s medical eligibility?”

“I was going to fix it.”

“After the scout left?”

Derek said nothing.

Mason finally understood.

Ryan’s equipment disappearing had not been random.

Derek wanted him to miss the showcase.

When stealing his gear wasn’t enough, he changed the club system too.

Sarah opened more records.

Then noticed something.

Ryan wasn’t the only player whose profile Derek had edited.

Three others appeared.

Mason Reed.

Jake Turner.

And Tyler Grant.

Mason leaned toward the screen.

“Why is my name there?”

Sarah clicked.

His speed-test result from the previous month had been changed.

Original time:

11.8 seconds.

Current record:

12.6 seconds.

Mason stared at Derek.

“You changed my score too?”

Sarah’s face went cold.

This was no longer about one missing bag.
