Sophie Was Handed a Sealed Envelope at School — Then Principal Harris Found a Cruel Note Inside and One Message Revealed Who Had Planned the Humiliation

Chapter 2 — The Note Pretended to Be Official

Harris carried the pieces into his office.

Sophie sat in a chair beside the school counselor, Ms. Patel.

Vanessa stood near the door.

Harris carefully assembled the page.

The full handwritten message read:

Sophie — stop pretending you earned the Community Night reading.

Everyone knows someone else deserved it more.

The committee only kept your name because changing it now would look bad.

Do everyone a favor and tell them you don’t want to read.

At the bottom were three words:

From someone honest.

Sophie began crying again.

“They don’t want me?”

Harris immediately looked toward her.

“No.”

“Sophie, listen to me.”

“This did not come from the selection committee.”

She looked confused.

Harris pointed toward the handwriting.

“Official school decisions are not sent like this.”

“And nobody on the committee wrote this note with my permission.”

Vanessa suddenly said:

“Maybe another student made it as a prank.”

Harris looked toward her.

“Maybe.”

Vanessa relaxed slightly.

Then Harris picked up the envelope.

It was not an ordinary envelope.

It had an official blue school seal.

Only staff had access to that stationery.

“Where did you get this?” Harris asked.

Vanessa looked at him.

“It was in my mailbox.”

“With Sophie’s name already on it?”

“Yes.”

“And you simply delivered it?”

“Yes.”

Harris looked toward Sophie.

“Did Ms. Vanessa say who it was from?”

Sophie shook her head.

“She just said it was for me.”

Harris looked back at Vanessa.

“Did you open it before giving it to her?”

“No.”

“Did you know what was inside?”

Vanessa answered immediately.

“Absolutely not.”

Harris said nothing.

His phone suddenly vibrated.

A message had arrived from Ms. Patel.

She was sitting only a few feet away.

Harris frowned and opened it.

It was a screenshot.

His expression changed completely.

Then he slowly looked toward Vanessa.

Because the message had been sent from Vanessa’s own number the night before.
