Ryan opened the message.
Lucas: Random question. Does your house have one of those doorbell cameras?
Ryan had replied:
Yeah. Why?
Lucas answered:
Just asking. My dad wants one.
Walter read the exchange.
Margaret looked furious again.
“That proves it.”
Walter shook his head.
“It makes the question relevant.”
“It still doesn’t prove who was on the porch.”
Margaret exhaled impatiently.
Ryan looked at the timestamp.
The message came one day before the first package disappeared.
That was difficult to ignore.
Walter asked:
“Why would Lucas message you?”
Ryan shrugged.

“Not much.”

“No.”
